Apologies, fellow surfers, for a gap of time since last posting. This time of year gets crazy for a United Methodist pastor, especially in 2022.

As you know, I’ve been developing a resource for counselors and pastors who have care receivers involved in BDSM. What follows is the next segment.

I like to tweak and polish an article before posting, but his one is a bit rough. But it still provides a sketch of how this once illegal sexual practice gradually gained greater acceptance.

The purpose behind providing a history of this practice is simply to help you understand why a parishioner or counselee might actually view the practice as normal and fun. The very things that would have made our grandmothers faint with disbelief are now becoming viewed so frequently and purveyed so positively that people see nothing wrong with them.
